Over the past few months, I've been doing a ton of traveling for business. I've been on media tours, which are so fun! A media tour is when they send an expert on the road to make media appearances and give advice about how to get your life organized.
In November, I was on a ten-city tour representing four clients, and starting on Tuesday, January 1st, I began another tour for Office Depot. By the end of the tour, I will have hit morning TV in Tampa, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tallahassee, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs and Atlanta.
I have really enjoyed all the traveling, and it's cool to see so many new cities, even if it's only for a day or so. To give you an idea of what happens on a media tour, here's a link to the video from my Houston appearance back in November. And below, you'll find a few pics of me with the various morning hosts/anchors I've worked with. I'm having SO MUCH fun, so I thought I'd share. Also, I was just in Los Angeles as part of this Office Depot tour and I had the great fortune of getting together with some colleagues (who are also great friends of mine) from the LA area. I arranged to meet up with the gorgeous Justine Miceli, Chris McKenry, Cary Brazeman, and fellow blogger John Trosko for dinner at a very cool place called French 75 and boy was it delish! Check out the photos here if you can bear the silliness...

That was really fun to watch! You are a TV natural! Hope to see you on a Boston show soon. And congratulations on your Office Depot partnership! Exciting.

My fave is either the one where you're wearing your big girl glasses, or the one in the pink top.

Great video! I missed you in Chicago.

Donna, Terry and Angie, thanks for your comments, I appreciate the kind words! Terry, you noticed the ever-present pink top, eh? Thought I could sneak that by ya...
Yes, it's my "TV uniform". Actually, I have TWO pink tops that are slightly different styles so now I have TWO tv uniforms.
There are specific criteria that make certain tops good for tv and believe it or not, they're not that easy to find! Plus, I don't have a lot of room in my luggage for clothing, so the same outfit for every appearance is the way to go.

I know! I know! It has to look good when you pull it out of your shoe and unroll it!
I watched the YouTube video of Houston. I'll bet you see all levels of media professionalism on your tours. You looked happy, and in love with what you do. There's no better way to connect with a TV audience than that.

Terry, that is a very kind thing to say, and you're right, I do love it. I love the organizing stuff because it helps people change their lives for the better. And I love the media stuff because, well, because it's fun!

Monica, you did a fabulous job on Houston TV! I loved your energy. And I loved your tips. Makes me want to run out and buy a SpotBot. I think my favorite was to put out no more than half the holiday decorations you love. Not only is there half to put away, your house can look different next year without having to buy anything! I'm so glad you posted the YouTube video of the Houston appearance.

Janine, thanks for your lovely comment! By the way, I have my own SpotBot and I will post photos of the results of it on my blog photo album for you to see!
