Organizer Reveals Junk Drawer: Film at Eleven!
Remember last year when a bunch of Professional Organizer bloggers showed photos of their own desks? Today I pulled open my utility drawer (I try never to call my own a "junk drawer" because who needs to be keeping junk?) to get the scissors, and in that moment, it occurred to me to show you a picture of the drawer. So I grabbed my camera and snapped this photo.
I swear, I didn't declutter or re-arrange it. This is just how it looked when I opened it. It's not perfect by any means, but it has a drawer divider and we use pretty much everything in there now and again, so it's definitely all worth keeping, at least for now.
What does your utility drawer look like? Or is yours just a junk drawer?

I just did a contest with the local newspaper to clean up 2 readers' junk drawers. One we organized with store bought dividers, the other we organized using repurposed items and dividers. Now they are no longer "junk" drawers!
I like your term utility drawer. Calling it a junk drawer is like giving yourself permission to keep it, well, junky!

Debbie, thanks for your comment. I agree, the language we use has an effect on our lives. Calling it a junk drawer does indeed create the expectation and permission for it to be a drawer full of JUNK. Ugh.
