Organization involves change and one of the most important things to change is behavior. The other is changing the tools you're using. Some of the most effective tools are also inexpensive, which is great! Here are five of my most versatile favorites for under ten dollars...
Command Adhesive Hooks by 3M
Hooks that adhere to the wall using a super awesome adhesive that comes off without leaving any marks. Use them everywhere!
Inside your medicine chest, inside kitchen cabinet doors, the side wall of your
closet or that skinny slice of wall in the laundry room that you thought was
useless. Baseball caps, scarves, jackets, fly swatters, and countless other
things can be hung on Command Hooks and when you need to move them, they come
off in a jiffy! This one-minute video shows you how!
Binder Clips
The most fabulous, versatile little dude in the office! I don't even own paper clips anymore because binder clips are so much better! They don't slide off easily and they don't catch onto stray papers accidentally the way paper clips do. I use them for everything including clipping my travel face cleaning cloths together, clipping my action items together, and I created a kids' art gallery by stringing binder clips on a cable across a kitchen wall.
Turntables
Love love love these! I have seven of these in my kitchen cabinets, a large one in the refrigerator, and one in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. They are so helpful and a simple way to make the things you need every day easy to access. (Wooden turntables may be more than ten bucks but you can get plastic ones for less)
Overdoor Racks
From dog leashes to baseball caps, jackets to scarves, or even umbrellas or gift bags, these little babies create storage space out of thin air. Like turntables, there are all sorts of price points for overdoor racks, but you can definitely find them for ten dollars.
Packing Cubes
Travel can throw you into a disorganized tizzy but packing cubes compartmentalize all your clothing and keep it from sliding around inside your luggage. Plus, you can group your clothing by tops, bottoms, delicates, shoes, etc. so your luggage never looks like it exploded in your hotel room. These are a must-have for the frequent traveler!
Whether you're tackling the kitchen or the laundry, the office or the bedroom, your luggage, your garage or anywhere in between, these five organizing tools are household essentials you can nab for less than ten bucks. Happy Organizing!
