the Shoe Wheel. This totally cool and innovative storage product was designed by the creative folks over at Rakku Designs, and I can't wait to see one in person! This adorable Ferragamo Ferris Wheel is 29 inches in diameter, 13 inches wide, and holds up to a man's size ten and a half shoe.
For the stud (or studette) in your life with larger shoes, check out Rakku's alternative shoe storage design, the Shoe Pod. It holds up to a man's size twelve shoe, and takes up only half as much vertical space as the Shoe Wheel. One quick caveat about the Wheel and the Pod... if you're planning to store your new inside a reach-in closet, be sure to measure your closet depth first. Most reach-ins are only 24 to 25 inches deep and the Shoe Wheel is 29 inches in diameter, (the Pod is a smidge bigger) so unless you place it flat against the back closet wall (and why would you do that??), it won't fit in a reach-in. But I still love it!
The photos on the Rakku Designs web site make it appear the shoes are touching each other, however, what you can't see is that each pair of shoes lives inside its own clear vinyl compartment which, by the way, is adjustable. (very nice feature) You just slide the divider bars to make the pouch wider or narrower, as your shoe storage needs change. Shoe Wheels are available in three colors; silver, white and black, and they have casters for easy moving in and out of your closet. For more information, check out the FAQ page.
